THE HOUSE
The house is situated on top of a hill in a pine forest with vineyards and fruit trees around. The painting studio is located inside the great lounge linked to a large terrace overlooking the valley. There are several gardens around the house that you can paint, explore and enjoy having breakfast “en plein air” or chill to the cricket songs in the evening…
LIFE AT THE HOUSE
Regarding daily life, the house works as an artist’s house, we have meals together and function as a group, where everyone participate with what they want, and cooperating in keeping the place clean and tidy, while keeping privacy and independance at your leisure.
You will enjoy a good bedroom for yourself or share it if you come with a partner.
EATING & WINING
Ah, the good flavoured food of Provence… Fresh tomatoes, aromatic herbs, juicy summer fruits straight from the tree, tasty strawberries, crusty baguettes and piping hot cakes and tarts… The food you will have during your staying is this typically Provençal and family cooking that gives people of Provence a long and healthy life…
It is made with as much organic and fresh products as possible, you can contribute with your cooking skills if you want, exchange recipes or just enjoy it with good company and a cool glass of Rosé from the region (best cru of the country this year!) or made from the vineyards around us.
THE AREA
The surrounding area is full of emblematic painting spots and hosts great events and places to paint or visit throughout the year.
This summer, highlights in the vicinity include the Festival d’Avignon, largest theater festival in Europe, turning the city into an international gathering of artists, with a lot of street performances, the “Cathédrale d’images” in nearby Les Baux de Provence with a special Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition of sound and light, consisting of his paintings being projected in big on the stone walls of this quarry, the Van Gogh Asylum, St Paul de Mausolé in St Rémy de Provence with an itinerary of the master’s painting spot, the port of Beaucaire and a lot of hidden places of beauty that we will take you through during or day out to paint plein air.
